What is orthokeratology / Ortho-K?

Orthokeratology or Orho-K in short
is the form of overnight contact lenses that corrects your vision while you
sleep it allows you to be free of glasses or contact lenses during the day
once inserted and with the eyes closed during sleep the lenses will softly
reshape the cornea which is the front surface of the eye. Upon awaking the
lenses are removed and with the curvature of the cornea corrected you
will enjoy clear vision for the rest of the day. As this is not a permanent fix it is necessary to wear the lenses every night to maintain perfect vision. Every year my prescription keeps getting stronger and stronger and they keep getting in the way of all the sports I play, What can I do about that? Because of its reversible and gentle approach Ortho-K is suitable for children of most ages. Studies have shown that having a prescription of -5 Diopters or more will put your eyes at a greater risk of long-term eye health issues. Understandably parents will be very concerned when they see their child’s prescription gets stronger and stronger every year. Fortunately Ortho-K is really effective at managing Myopia and has a high success rate of
preventing your short-sightedness from getting worse. We do encourage anyone who is short-sighted to have an Ortho-K discussion with us so that we
can explain more in detail on how Ortho-K can have a positive impact on you or
your child’s vision and lifestyle. Clarity Optical
