Medical.\ Thank you for choosing Scouter Medical to
provide\ your Vitrectomy Recovery Equipment.\
I’m going to take a few minutes of your time to demonstrate how\
to adjust it once it arrives\ Your equipment will be delivered to your doorstep
in a box like this \ via UPS\
Once you open the box you’ll find a small box inside the box\
Inside the small box…are your\ disposable fleece cushion covers,\
your Certificate of Medical Necessity,\ and your face down mirror.\
Stand your chair upright in an area of the home\
where you want it to be set up.\ Lift back on the seat pad and the chair will
spring into place\ Adjustments to the height and expanse of the
frame\ are made in the back of the unit\
I always recommend that patients be as high\ as they can be\
and still safely get off the chair\ This push button adjustment \
adjusts the height and angle of the seat\ \
This cable adjustment adjusts the expanse of the frame\
Pitch forward on the front legs\ to slacken up this elastic strap\
and pull the pin out\ Then choose an adjustment that’s comfortable\
Straddle the seat, put your knees on the pads\ and fall forward\
Now I’ll show you how to adjust the face cradle\ as you are sitting in the chair\
You can loosen these knobs\ to lift the stems\
and this bar can be adjusted at any angle\ that you find comfortable for your neck\
this black velcro, black framework\ is always locked parallel with the floor\
Put the face cushion on top of that framework\ and rest your head\
The tray can be lifted and locked…like this\ to hold your arms\
All the pads on the unit are removable\ Once you have the unit adjusted for your body\
You can slide this mirror underneath your face\
to reflect images in front of you\ To get off the unit\
push off of the chest plate and back off while \
keeping your head down\ \
