Hyperopia (Farsightedness): How Does It Impact Your Vision?
November 6, 2019
Do you have trouble focusing clearly on things
up close, like your phone or tablet? If so, you may have hyperopia (otherwise known
as farsightedness). Hyperopia is a common visual condition that
causes objects up close to appear blurry, or difficult to focus on, while objects in
the distance often remain clear. For example, if you have hyperopia, you may
be able to easily see your tv in the distance but be unable to focus on your laptop up close. If you’re young, you may have hyperopia
but not notice any problems with your vision. On the other hand, if you have significant
hyperopia, your vision can be blurry at all distances. But not to worry, as a condition that affects
your vision, hyperopia is easily correctable with glasses, contact lenses or in many cases,
laser eye surgery. Curious if you have hyperopia? What are you waiting for? Make sure to schedule an appointment with
your local eye care professional today!
