Eye Health: All About Diabetic Retinopathy | LensCrafters

Eyes and Your Health, take 17! Hi. I’m Dr. Jacquot. I’m here to teach you about eye health,
but I’m a little worried you’ll think my video is boring. I’m wondering if there’s a way to make
eye health cool. Ok, you know what?I’m going to prove it to
you with help from some of my coolest friends. This is my friend James. Obviously, he’s incredibly cool. He cares about cool things, the guitar, and
his hairdo, and most of all, he cares about eye health. James has diabetes, so he’s going to help
me explain Diabetic Retinopathy. James has given this condition a much cooler
nickname. D-Ret. Ok, so you might not know that diabetes in
any form can be very bad for your eyes. People with diabetes have high blood sugar
levels, which does a number on the tiny blood vessels in your retina. The vessels can become damaged and leak. Not cool. If we catch d-ret early enough, we can help
protect its victims from blindness. So please, get an annual eye exam.
