This episode makes me sad…my dad went for second opinion too late and at the end he lost his life.
My dad had some unknown stomachache, the doctor told him it was some stomach problem, not big deal , he gave my dad medicine for killing Helicobacter pylori , and told him only need to come back after 3 MONTHS.however it didn't work. The pain was getting stronger, during the time my dad even underwent twice gastroscopy but there's nothing wrong, the doctor still insist that it's stomach problem. Finally my dad went to another hospital asked for CT, and it showed that the problem was FOURTH pancreatic cancer. It had been a year after he first went to that doctor.Although the cancer would be third or fourth period when one start to feel pain, one year earlier could change many things.
But it was jusy too late .The doctor just like "I didn't expect this to happen…"
F U C K Y O U!
My dad fought against cancer for 8 months and unfortunately passed away last October. I hope this can give everyone lesson that don't be afraid of go to second opinion because of money or something, sometimes it could save your life.
My dentist told to my father that it was normal to loose teeth… he had an infection under his gums…thanks god he went to a second dentist…. he has almost all his teeth and two implants
Always better with Bear.
That 4 roommates story is scary
"Are people on reddit called re- alright sorry" I see the need showing doc!
Bear : ^👅^
I love Bear so much!!!
Everyone is paying attention to Doctor Mike's shirt, and meanwhile I'm having a serious concern about the red color of his eyelids
Well i hope you react to cell at work
I met my husband’s uncle in the street on the way to the pharmacy the other month. He was on his way to get some pain killers for a sore back and cough medicine for a cough he was up through the night with. He looked really ill so I convinced him to go see a doctor. I got a call later that day from my husband to say his uncle had been taken to the hospital with a blood clot in both his lungs!
Apparently the Doctor was shocked he was even able to walk in to the practice, he was really lucky to be alive. He is well and making a full recovery now. But the moral of the story is, don’t self diagnose.🙂👍
Checking a patient saves lifes…I'm apart of the red cross where people from 15 to 19 years old compete in first aid and they always "hide" very important wounds under the patients hair or clothes.Moral of the story do a full body check
His dog is soo adorableeeeeeeeeeee💕💞💖
Does sleeping naked can develop water in the lungs?
I like his dog a lot.
Can any one tell me what breed he is.
Does artificial sweetener cause colorectal cancer?
I've had ringing in my left ear that comes and goes and lasts for a few days at a time. I've asked my doctor about it on 3 different visits and she just ignores it.
I want you to discuss what can lead to these misdiagnoses and what changes in the system can be implemented to prevent them. My wife almost died because of it, we blame Kiaser but I'm sure it happens everywhere.
😮
Looking so young…
Can you just open up a practice in maybe, Syracuse NY so you can be my doctor. I’d probably feel better asking you all my weird questions over the other doctors in the area 😂😂
Jeez, Bear really loves frenching
For me I was vomiting for 2 months straight. At first they thought it was a stomach bug, but by 2 months. No way. They did some scans too, found nothing. At the 2 month point I was about to accept it as my fate. But my gut said go in just 1 more time. So I did. I got an older (read experienced) doctor and it turns out it was dairy.
Is it weird that I can pop my collarbone in and out of place? Like it doesnt hurt but it’s weird
"i cant see"
doctor: "tylenol idc lol"
Apartment tour please!!!
I have a question. Why don't doctors do yearly cancer chekups. That would prevent a lot of deaths
Ο ΧΡΙΣΤΟΣ…….
What kind of dog do you have? He is so cute!
Wicked clips! It’s easy to see why some conditions are mixed with others. So many have overlaps, similar/same symptoms….,
over-tired/ over worked doctors or staff who, like dr Mike said, “I wouldn’t necessarily think of that in NYC”.
Great vid! Hiya Dr Mike. (I don’t know if you read these, but Hiya from the U.K.).x
Only here for Bear <3
Dr mike isn't wearing a button down shirt.
I think he's sick😂
I get sinus headaches and flus all the time. Any idea why?
If you have bad kidneys, potassium can reach ridiculous levels
"Potassium can kill you" : potassium: K.
hey! so i just watched one of your 'react to the comments' videos in which you talked about sleeping position and if one is better. i recently also saw a video that said sleeping on our sides is more beneficial because it allows CSF to clear out toxins from the boood. the video also said that this is the main reason most animals generally sleep on their sides in the wild.. your thoughts?
I love that you don't save your stories for the end of the video like so many other YouTubers do. If your content is good (and yours definitely is) you don't need to tease and clickbait to get people to watch the whole video!
hey doc please discuss tourette's syndrome and chorea in next video please please I request you.
I had the same experience. For 4 months I couldn't sleep straight down on my bed; I had to sleep sitting up because my chest would feel like an elephant was on it and I would just weeze as well like I was choking. Arms, legs, pretty much everything hurt when I moved or stood still, or even as small as breathing. All the doctors I went to up to that point said it was just heartburn, so they gave me heartburn pills. Even some people just gave me tums because they believed it was heartburn too, but it just got worse so I stop taking them all. After being tired, physically and mentally, I finally went to the ER to find out I had Pericardial effusion (Liquid around the heart). They had to take out around 2 liters worth of liquid from it. The results came back unknown when they were trying to find the cause. I'm thinking it was all the milkshakes I had before then (1-2 milkshakes a day), but was an exhausting couple of months to say the least.
Psych Social Worker here, similar thing happens to me all the time, the psychiatrist will see a patient, label them depressed, I will see them pick up on their psychosis and report back to the psychiatrist… Patients will try to hide psychosis because it's scary and stigmatized. But the doctors can't treat you for symptoms you hide from them. I was raised in a home with a father, brother and sister with schizophrenia. I pick up very easily when I am talking with someone experiencing hallucinations or delusions.
Doctor Mike! Can you make a video addressing the insulin crisis happening in the USA? Would love to hear your opinion 🙂
Also had a horrible headache for a week and it was brain swelling lol massive steroids and was fine
Me:doc,I can't eat my jaw hurts
Doc:gets wisdom teeth removed for 125$
Other doc: jaw cancer…….
My husband is a welder and absolutely you can get metal shavings in your eyes even with safety glasses. I remember we went to get them taken out and the doctor let me look through the microscope/ magnifying scope thing, not the normal one they hold up to their face but more like the one when you go to the eye doctor and put your head in I could see these little black dots on his eye. They were very small even with the scope they were very good at getting them out quickly.
this one time my mom woke up with an horrible earache and in some moments she could hear as she discribed "weird noises". And she was like eh ok i'll go do a checkup. The doctor said she has hearing loss and perscribed antibiotics. Before my mom went to the pharmacy she went to another doctor just to make sure. The doctor told her that she had a SPIDER in her ear, yes a motherfrickin' SPIDER and the doctor got it out and everything was chill. But man the first doctor was a butthead
I got in a car accident back in 2011 someone t boned my car door and i got a bad concussion and went to the hospital but said i didnt need an mri. I am still having memory issues its hard to focus at times i randomly stutter mostly when im stressed and ive passed out a couple times. I got a new dr and she referred me to a neurologist and i just got an mri.
Bananas 🍌 😂🤣😂🤣🤣😂🤣 7:37
Dog licking your Mouth.. Nasty af
I took my dad to a hospital because he was having chest pains. My dad had went to this hospital before and all the other times they said it was gas
This time they said it was gas and didn't even try to check his heart.
My dad literally fell onto the floor. They took him back and checked him. Yup it was a massive heart attack. He survived but I was so mad they didn't want to even check him
This just made me scared at how many incompetent doctors there are out there. You don't even need to be a trained medical professional to know that something is seriously wrong when a patient is vomiting and going blind from a headache smh
I was too distracted by the fact that red shirt looks hot and i would like too see it unbuttoned a little bit. Just a little bit tho. Like 2 buttons.
O M G I love you and your all you video's
After telling a doctor that I was having severe constant headaches, they told me it was just muscle tension in my forehead. On take two, I went for some blood tests and it turned out that I was severely anemic with a ferritin level of 5! All recovered now though 😇
Like one month ago I went to see my mum's friend, she's a gynaecologist, we talked about my period and everything just because I was curious, but after that, she asked me to have blood exams. I did it like crying and shaking 'cause that's my worst phobia, but I still don't regret it: it showed up that I had
likethe worst anaemia case of the whole hospitalCan we just get an entire video on bear.. pleasee
I have a different question. With whom do you leave your dog when you have long shifts? 🙂
Hey, Doc. Have you seen you're on the front page at www.docrat.com.au? A short way down on the page is a caricature of you and your equivalent in Jenner's Universe.
Omg the hydrocephalus patient! I have hydrocephalus; luckily it’s been under control since I was a baby. Thank you for explaining it for people that may not know!
reddit reading AND dog? automatic upvote good content
also obligatory HIM BIG
I have hydrocephalus, and it is definitely something that is constantly monitored by me, my family, and even my friends! (Something that makes it worse is that I also get chronic headaches, making it hard to diagnose a shunt malfunction!)
Medicare for all will make these stories seem like a bad sneeze.
My dad broke one of the bones in his foot once, the doctor put his leg in a cast, but after takeing the cast off, dad's leg wasn't any better. The doctor should've made sure to stabilaze the bone with wire 1st, but he didn't, so it didn't even start to heal. Then this "genious" wanted to just remove the bone, beoucuse why not? Dad didn't want to deal with this guy's bullshit anymore and got a second opinion. The 2nd doc told him, that removing this bone = being unable to move his ankle properly and fixed it during an operetion, then get the leg into the cast again.
Our dog had two Melanomas (not sure if that's the right plural but whatever) and now I'm paranoid and think that every little bump he has is a Melanoma.
You should react to an anime called Cells At Work. Its exactly what it sounds like. It shows how cells react to certain things like viruses in an anime. If you like anime, you will love this
You should react to some of the game grumps Trauma Center: Second Opinion videos. Theyre absolutely hilarious
Had that “Worst headache of my life “ complaint back in April. Ended up with diagnosis of suicide headache. Honestly so horrible! And they don’t know what causes them. Legit felt like my head was going to split in half
Please shout out (Gabie bacalhau).

These doctors need to be sued for malpractice….who knows how many people died or have irreversible trauma in their care…

Some of these doctors are infuriatingly incompetent.
About two years ago almost I had a spinal tap done. I was warned greatly not to remain upright after 24 hours if it gave me a headache. My doctor was adamant I lay down for another 24 hours so long as headaches persisted. Because I’m stubborn and need to work for a living, I went to work. I ended up in excruciating pain, and had to have someone drive to where I was at work to take me to the hospital. Despite the fact I explained to this ER doctor all about what I went through two days prior, he insisted the location of my headache meant it was nothing more than a tension headache and there was no cause for concern for spinal fluid to be leaking. Regardless of how much I explained to this man that I wasn’t under any stress, which he insisted I was to have the headache, he didn’t listen. He went so far as to tell me he was documenting in my chart that I had nothing more than a tension headache and I was not to be treated again for it all because I asked for a note for the following day off work. He basically thought I was trying to pull a fast one and get out of work and wanted to make sure I couldn’t do it again. I spent almost a week out of work because I did, in fact, have a small leak and my doctor wanted me to remain laying down as opposed to trying a blood patch which he said would be significantly more painful. This is why I think most doctors are jokes.
Bananas don't actually have as much potassium as we think.
There's more hidden potassium in lots of different foods like soup and cereal.
I just kinda that about this. It may not be totally true but it makes sense. Dr Mike, I respect you more for giving Roxie (sorry if i misspelled) to a family member ( I believe you said you gave her to your dad) because of your lifestyle. So many people don't get the right dog for themselves that match their lifestyle. With you being as busy as you are, it was probably really difficult to take care of a husky in New York. Very glad to see you saw that and got a dog that best fits you. also a adorable one.
I don’t know if my brother lying but he said u follow him on Instagram his users The student nurse
I went to two doctors over the course of six months to get some weird abdominal pains checked out. It varied on where it presented, but was always in a band across my back and felt like I was being squeezed. It was definitely food triggered but not to any specific food, just anything that required digestion. I had one doctor tell me it absolutely couldn't be my gallbladder (my first thought since my husband had had the exact same symptoms a few years earlier) since the pain wasn't on my right side. He suggested that it was all in my head and I needed to reduce stress. (I had a newborn at the time, so ha! No.) The second doctor also said it absolutely couldn't be my gallbladder since the pain was often centering on the middle of my chest where my ribs swooped up (I'm positive there's a term for this area, but she never said it). She gave me antacids and told me to lose some weight. I begged her for an CT scan or something and she reluctantly (after I bawled for a solid twenty minutes because I hadn't been able to eat in days and she had the gall to congratulate me on the weight loss) ordered an ultrasound for me. Guess who was chock full of gallstones?! Yup. My gallbladder had collapsed and was necrotizing, and full of stones so large that even I could identify them on the ultrasound. The tech was super, super nice to me after the scan. 🙂
My parent's roster had told my Dad that his suspicious mole that his mom had been telling him to get checked out for years, was completely fine. Earlier this year they switched docters and was referred to a specialist. It was Melanoma.
Bear is the best boy, you're awesome Doctor Mike!
Yesterday was 30 years anniversary of Velvet revolution in Czech Republic (Communism fall). I'm realy happy that someone in the world celebrate just the Sudent's day or don't care about Communism.
I had discomfort in my my abdomen for about a year and my doctor told me i just needed to eat healthier. i asked a friend of mine who knew an early-retired doctor to see if he could provide a second opinion and he told me i had an intestinal blockage. went back to my regular doctor and yelled at them, then they confirmed that i had a blockage and it was getting so severe that i was actually close to having restricted blood flow in that area which could've caused necrosis.
changed doctors after that.
Put bear in more vids pls!!
Please do a video with your girlfriend
I hate that his dog keeps licking his mouth and face
7:35 my brother (who has a TBI and many major body injuries) almost died again because his potassium levels were messed up, his kidneys weren’t working, was dehydrated, and he had pneumonia because he was silently aspirating on most of the things he was drinking. Terrible to think I almost killed my brother.
Hi I’m a huge fan and I come from South Africa and it would be amazing if you could come here and do something for the rural areas here. It would be so greatly appreciated by me and many other people ❤️
I saw a dr for 4 yrs and she refused to do blood work or scans on me. I switched to another in the same office and he ordered everything that day. Turns out, I needed gallbladder surgery, I'm autoimmune positive and treated now for lupus, have a heart murmur with high PVC's and a bunch of other things. She just labeled me with GERD. terrible doctor
https://youtu.be/Mih_P-IxZmE check this out!
I have trigeminal neuralgia and a neurosurgeon told me to undergo Gamma Knife Radiosurgey, I decided before doing that I would get a second opinion and when I did I was told not to do that unless it is a last option, MVD is the go to. Gamma knife is destructive and made for people who already have brain cancer.
Idk about you guys but all I can think of is hugging/playing with bear. Like yeah, I hear you mike but like can I pet your dog really quick?
Can you talk about COQ10 and NRF2 supplements? If someone tells me "oxidative stress is causing my arthritis and I need to buy their supplements" one more time, I'm going to punch someone lol
Makeup company pls make a shade that are dr mikes natural eye lids color
Thanks
Yeah as soon as you read the symptoms I knew he was sucking on frogs…you should probably go back to school if you didn't know that
The thing about most mental problems, is that they are made worse from eating certain types of foods. Wheat and Gluten not only cause the brain to swell, cause or worsen depression, worsen Autism, Bipolar disorder, ADHD, Alzheimer’s, etc. Taking Carbs like Wheat out of your diet will help make these diseases lessen in severity, maybe even coming close to taking most symptoms away. Most doctors will give drugs which eliminate one problem while causing another, while the actual way to more effectively treat these mental illnesses is out there. The main problem with this is that Doctors are trained to use medicine to solve all problems, they are not at all taught nutrition. This is a problem considering what we put in our bodies directly effects them, and since doctors aren’t trained to look at nutrition, they ignore it all together. Dr. Mike, if your reading this, what’s your take/opinion?
I actually rewind every video to see the bee-woop twice
I took a neuro class and I am scared of all things that can go wrong …. I haven’t eaten pork in a a year
I haven’t seen the annoying orange in ten years. I can’t believe you’ve done this to me.
What dog breed is that so cute
