December 13, 2018 Reply Rex Cant wait for Animations, Models and Ai to be good enough that someone could open their eyes in a VR cafe scene and just rest… after saying that Im also concerned about the people who would never want to leave. Who knows what the future will be like. December 13, 2018 Reply Warkarma I know why alien civilizations have never visited us. It's because they got to amazing levels in virtual reality and they got stuck in there FOR EVEEERRR……. December 13, 2018 Reply Pavy It's insane that even with all that detail we can still tell that it's fake. I don't know what it is though. Maybe the eyes December 13, 2018 Reply David Boura Running man can start running. December 13, 2018 Reply Star Beard amazing December 13, 2018 Reply Lenny Gordon Getting closer! December 13, 2018 Reply ツ Round UI Future is near with unreal engine December 13, 2018 Reply Tommy Kho why its look fake? because thats not the way subsurface scattering work, our body contain bone. so not the whole skin will get sss. it just look gummy. December 14, 2018 Reply VR & AR Development & Studio The eyes are (as usual) Dead as a doornail… My simple lorez character animation is more 'believable'.. December 14, 2018 Reply DutchDread Working on my own realistic 3d human in Unreal, but I have no idea how you guys are getting that last few%. Something is still missing in mine and I just can't tell what it is exactly. December 14, 2018 Reply Thinking Tech I've never seen anything beat la noire even films haven't beat la noire December 15, 2018 Reply A Aa Hi Doug. Met you at SIGGRAPH back in the days after a presentation. Can't remember which one. December 15, 2018 Reply AG Creations Yea this wont be exploited to frame someone one day…. December 15, 2018 Reply josh Is there a really good tutorial out there to get this kind of quality in hair for Unreal. December 15, 2018 Reply Mike Asterios We are definitely moving into a future where the traditional 3d artist suffers the same fate as sculptors did with the advent of mass production. As a 3d artist in a studio I see 2 choices for myself. Learn code and become a self sufficient game creator Or get into this rabbit hole of Artificial intelligence in entertainment industry December 15, 2018 Reply Osaka78 Awesome ❤️ December 17, 2018 Reply Francisco Javier Millán Carrascosa it would be nice to know the process to recreate those things December 17, 2018 Reply Ranjit Menon this is definitely high level ofdetail hat's off but I can still see a bit of stiffness ..maybe there should be slight jiggle in the facial skin.the eye ..i don't know if its just my perspective…but if we are shown this without knowing that its 3d, we might not catch it 🙂 December 17, 2018 Reply Ryan Barr The skin deformations are mindblowingly good December 17, 2018 Reply Carlitos Soriano I would love to know what soft they are using to do the real time streaming, is it Dynamixyz? Faceware? I can tell they are using Vicon Cara headset but surely not Vicon soft. December 18, 2018 Reply Romanito Please, less grimacing and more casual behaviors for your demos. This was a perfect opportunity to make the whole presentation with avatars. December 19, 2018 Reply Dojo Games Surreal!!!!!!He sayed "In VR" and i say "yeahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!" Oh god thats a huge jump on techs, but i Think we need more contents to explore these high techs like hellblade. I cant wait to see this working on New games soon. Imagine this level of detail on every part of body, It Will be Very realístic for sure December 19, 2018 Reply Zinogg i heard that you guys allowed blender devs to use some of unreal tech..that's pretty cool if it's true, it still in it's infancy but hopefull they'll reach this level and then we can have a killer combo 🙂 December 19, 2018 Reply Zinogg i heard that you guys allowed blender devs to use some of unreal tech..that's pretty cool if it's true, it still in it's infancy but hopefull they'll reach this level and then we can have a killer combo 🙂 December 19, 2018 Reply Leo the Cat Welcome to the matrix December 20, 2018 Reply Ominous Onion I remember seeing half life 2 and completely flabbergasted by it's facial animations. December 20, 2018 Reply MilesBellas There is too much mid information because the light isn't accurate…..it needs a LUT.Specularity should bloom not be clamped, blacks should hit 0,0,0 as in nature. The mocap needs higher frequencies between frames.Ideally the skin could be video texture not a static map.Maybe the easiest way would be to train AI to increase the quality of creature renders?…so the renders go 95% and AI adds the difficult 5% based on real world footage? December 23, 2018 Reply Sebastián Sanabria There's always something off, I mean the head looks amazing, but I was wondering if that "off" is related to the weight of the device on the head. In the simulation is not there anymore, but the effects are there. If you guys replicate the rig on top of the head, would still look off? This means that future performance captures require a different rig, one that captures from a distance. December 24, 2018 Reply Dream Digital I am sure the actors would be delighted seeing that you take 10 hours of their performance and then you don’t need them anymore because you can use ai to extrapolate any performance you need. December 24, 2018 Reply iNfeeeect look at all the realism and cool things unreal engine cant do…and now look at for example pubg, using the same engine … December 25, 2018 Reply Heny 2:36 The man in the background lmao December 26, 2018 Reply Ruby Studio so in other words. You want to give more work to developers. and have more quick time events. all because you want more real crap. we don't pay you 80 dollars for quick time games. no matter how amazing the graphics are. WE WANT GOOD GAMES. EVEN IF THE GRAPHICS ARE OLD. this is why indie games are starting to make good money. December 26, 2018 Reply Jan Kadeřábek Impressive, but still looking fake. December 26, 2018 Reply Karloo I feel like these people talking are not real :DDDDDDDDDD December 26, 2018 Reply Charles Sami Amyouni Impressive! December 26, 2018 Reply César Oliveira I don't know why but the mouth are the most difficult part to mimic. I just have noticed something not to real when the model opened it. December 26, 2018 Reply bsjzhx jajxbc On the right side, it's me during math class 0:57 December 26, 2018 Reply DrDapper DrDapper hey , put some judder at edges of the mouth when holding a stretched pose. December 26, 2018 Reply Jasc Random Wouldn't it be mind blowing if the presenters were also CGI? December 27, 2018 Reply pcguide lk This is insane! No more ton of reworking and cleaning captured data! Kudos Unreal team. You are making a big difference in the CGI world. Wish you will be the next platform for VFX in movies!! December 27, 2018 Reply Gengonglike Arbukle WHy is the digital human you are constructing an old human with so many ugly geometrical features I would never import and use in the game of my design. Hopefully I can get the animation data without the ugly geometry. December 27, 2018 Reply Meow Shifu One step closer to the matrix. December 27, 2018 Reply War Band Amazing December 27, 2018 Reply MisioLander MZ Fajnie to wygląda ale mimo wszystko widać iż jest to sztuczne.. Brak w tym jakiejś duszy i prawdziwości. December 27, 2018 Reply Echetlaeus Get ready, people. In 10 years from now, this is how games will look like. December 27, 2018 Reply Matias Benavides / Digital Visualization this scares me a lot December 27, 2018 Reply BOZHIDAR KOLEV I understood, but plz, put this camera in some 18+ "movie studio", I'm a medicine student, i need to see how this works with naked people, for my studying! Thank you. December 27, 2018 Reply Noblauch Nobi-Knobi What the Hell? December 28, 2018 Reply Bo Stanford wow, crossing the uncanny valley soon December 28, 2018 Reply Ranstone I'm from the future., and I bring good news! 1. This is on the "X-Box Dawn"(2034) games, and is pretty standard, although by now, our eyes don't look so dead.2.Filming in vertical has been removed from our phones, which we stopped calling "phones" like, 10 years ago. Calling them "phones" in 2035 is like calling a computer a "Text editor machine" in 2018.3.Flat earthers are gone.4. Liberals are gone.5.And finally, best of all Toktok is long dead. (BTW, Elon Musk makes a great president.) December 28, 2018 Reply CG showcase Nice Facial Expression presentation….Good Job Unreal December 28, 2018 Reply ManlyMan TheMan no one makes models like this in unreal games… show me an unreal engine game that looks like this then i'll be impressed December 28, 2018 Reply AakashR Music Don't make it totally incomparable from reality and unreality… Please. We will have to live in doubt whether what we see is true or not. December 28, 2018 Reply Manuel Camelo fake as duck >;O December 28, 2018 Reply ttt ttt Mr bean face !!! December 28, 2018 Reply ꉣꏹꉣꉣꏹꋪꁏꋊꀤ Unfortunately, we won't see this during gameplay, only in cutscenes like usual. Nothing new tbh December 28, 2018 Reply Brian Choi Looks real until it starts to talk at 1:30 Digital humanoids such as Avatar, Gollum, Yoda, and Alita works because they are something we haven't seen before and we assume that's what they look like. But humans, we look at them everyday and our brain identify even minor difference. Zipper effect of the lips when we talk, how the muscle move over the bones… It is getting closer but still a long way to go. December 28, 2018 Reply Raymotives Worldwide Ooh mern Fifa 20 will be great I think😂 December 28, 2018 Reply Maxim Mikhaylov Man im high on acid night now!Awesome video! December 28, 2018 Reply MA AS soon real actors will be out of a job and voice actors will be in buisness December 28, 2018 Reply Sinan Akkoyun Take that advice or many Unity game devs will not switch to UnrealThousands of VR developers will not switch to UE4 if you don't update your physx implementation and make low latency object holding in VR a thing. It's the main reason I chose Unity. You guys do not offer any kind of low latency physics handle position updates (so a physical object in vr looks like its parented to the controller but in reality it's a physics handle) December 28, 2018 Reply nomjomski this video is criminally underrated December 29, 2018 Reply kruth 666 Who else tried to make the same faces while watching? December 29, 2018 Reply NoCultist Better than ever but still unreal-istic. December 30, 2018 Reply Gyrbae People, PEOPLE!! I know we're all impressed and all about all of this, but we HAVE to ask some real questions here.. When will someone make Overwatch porn with Unreal? December 30, 2018 Reply cheapet50 L.A. Noire 2 confirmed!! December 30, 2018 Reply Space its always the eyes that are never quite right. December 31, 2018 Reply hoodwinkedfool I’m terrified of all the stupid faces we’ve taught AI December 31, 2018 Reply Simon Varty LIKE IT, LOVE IT, LIVE IT. January 1, 2019 Reply Mihai Why bother with this if we wont have it anyway in games… January 1, 2019 Reply RetzyWilliams realtime favial tracking…you mean like iClone in 2017-2018? wooopdy doo January 1, 2019 Reply Gabsare Sarg So we are using now real actors to make fake actors that pretend to be real actors. January 7, 2019 Reply ElioH There's a youtuber talking about cinema on his channel who said that even the most realistic character will not look like a real human because there will always be something that we only have and can't reacreate January 9, 2019 Reply Ajit D'Monte Why does Tim Sweeney like reggae music? Because he likes raster (rasta) 😅 January 13, 2019 Reply LordDeth Why isn't unreal used in cgi etc it would look really good January 17, 2019 Reply mohsen sadeghi perfect January 25, 2019 Reply DailyDaniel this is f*cking insane January 28, 2019 Reply JoelT7193 This looks far more convincing than the Andy Serkis one. It's like real!!!!!! March 25, 2019 Reply HughJass perfect for games, useless for VFX. well… great for previs for VFX. incredible tech tho. May 16, 2019 Reply Doni Dozh Why all these faces look washed out? I mean, it seems it lacks contrast, that crispness a real face has. They look lifeless. But still amazing to see how far we are when it comes to human CGI September 4, 2019 Reply David Heller Artificial general intelligence in 5 years!
